Gypsum Mills Estates Complex Residents Meeting Minutes
Thursday, January 8, 2004
- Meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by President Jane Pierce who led the Pledge of Allegiance
to the Flag.
- Board Members present were Jane Pierce, Bill Schukraft, Art Caputo,, Howard Strassner, Eileen
Ramsdell and Management/Owner Representative, Joyce Southerton; Board Member Cindy Lowry
was absent.
- The Minutes of the December 11, 2003 meeting were approved as read.
- Eileen Ramsdell gave Treasurer's report. Currently, there is a positive balance of $1,070.43.
The Report was approved on a motion made by Bill Schukraft.
- Complex Use Report: Bill Schukraft reported that the Booking Calendar has been posted
at the center and that reservations are filling up rapidly.
- Owner/Management Report - Joyce Southerton informed the Board that the Corporate offices
next door are expanding. They have eliminated their kitchen and restroom converting them into
offices. She informed us that the personnel from next door will be using our facilities until
actual building expansion is accomplished. She also indicated that we need some people to take
down the rest of the decorations.
- Art Caputo reported that for the St. Patrick Day party there will be one seating for the Corned
Beef and Cabbage dinner, as the rest of the evening will be given way to sing alongs, dancing,
and recreational game activities. Planned hours for the event are from 6:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M.
Attendance will be lirnited to 72 persons and the ticket cost is $6.00 per person.
- By-Laws Committee Report - Art Caputo, Chairman: All absentee ballots have been sent out to
those residents who indicated they would not be present for the February 26, 2004 vote. The proposed
by-laws have been submitted to the "Scoop" for publication along with the notice of the voting
day so that all residents may review them. Along with the publishing of the proposal, Residents
were advised that they may call any committee member for an explanation of any facet of the proposal
they weren't sure they understood. All committee members names and phone numbers are
published also.
- In answer to our request for a donated frying pan, Roseann Barstow donated a like-new 9" cast
iron frying pan. Jane Pierce has sent her a thank you note.
- Art Caputo installed the closet door in the complex center which was previously approved by the
Board. Total cost was $85.00.
- Board gave Art Caputo the go ahead to purchase a new coffee urn to replace one that burned out.
They suggested that the capacity of the urn be increased to 60 cups.
- The Board also approved an expenditure to purchase a laserjet ink toner cartridge for Art
Caputo's use in publishing the By-Laws and ballots as well as other Board-related printing.
- Art Caputo has been instructed to get information regarding the services of a company which
will do a professional job cleaning the Ansul System hood.
- The meeting was adjourned at 8:55 P.M.
