Gypsum Mills Cooperative Residents Meeting June 3, 2004

  1. The Resident's Meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by President Jane Pierce, who also led the residents in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
  2. The minutes of the last Resident's Meeting, March 4, were accepted as published in the Scoop by Secretary Art Caputo.
  3. The Treasurer's Report was given by Eileen Ramsdell. The balance on hand as of today is $ 577.20. The annual auditors are Diane Mordue, Don Semifero and Marvin Gelb.
  4. The House Fund and Facilities Reports were given by Art Caputo. The House Fund has less than $10. Art has installed the new spigot in the kitchen that is now able to reach all three sinks.
  5. The Committee Report for the Annual Picnic was given by Art Caputo. The picnic is to be held on July 17. There will be a $2 charge for each adult, $1 for children 12 and under, children 5 or under will be free, plus each family is asked to bring a dish to pass. The meat will be hot dogs, hamburgers and italian sausage with onions and peppers. There will be face painting, a DJ, musical chairs and 2 pinatas. There will not be pony rides or the jumping room, which would have required a $ 4,000 liability policy. Since the picnic in 2003 ran over budget due to the huge attendance, this year the fees are expected to bring the expenses under control.
  6. The Management Report was given by Joyce Southerton. There are now more than 400 homes in the park, and there will be 535 units when the park is fully completed. A second RV corral will be built closer to the Thruway to handle more boats and RV's.
  7. During the Residents' Forum, several people asked about items that still needed to be done on their properties, such as lawns and driveways. Residents were asked to follow the procedure and to use the new Community Relations Committee headed by Sam Condo if they do not get satisfaction from Maintenance. Other residents expressed concern that their street signs and stop signs were missing, which is causing a problem for visitors locating them.
  8. Jane Pierce introduced Nominating Committee Chairman Sam Condo for the Annual Election of the Board of Directors. He introduced each of the candidates, who spoke briefly on why they wanted to run for a Board position. Written ballots were then used to elect members to the Board. The vote count for the top 9 candidates was as follows:
  9. A. For two years: Jim Anthony - 73, Marsha Sutton - 69, Sam Condo - 68, Linda Bartolone - 63, Ron Platten - 61.

    B. For one year: Howard Strassner - 58, Eileen Ramsdell - 54, Brian Peet - 51, Gary Bach - 48. The elected candidates will meet next week to choose members for the board positions.

  10. The next Resident's Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 2, at 7 P.M. The meeting was adjourned at 9:30 P.M.

Respectfully submitted, Ronald Platten, Recording Secretary
