Board of Directors Meeting Minutes - June 16, 2004
President Jim Anthony called the brainstorming session to order at 6:30 PM at Marsha Sutton's house. This meeting was primarily to familiarize everyone with current activities.
Jim will provide a letter to the Scoop by 6-22 regarding the new board.
Discussion of who has building keys; they will be collected from previous owners and redistributed as needed. Linda Bartolone will be the only one with a closet key.
Next Board Meeting will be on July 8 at 7:30 PM
in the Community Center, the second Thursday of the month.
Vice-President Brian Peet gave his thoughts on the Legislative Affairs Committee.
Recording Secretary Ron Platten will update the Bulletin Board on the post office and in the community center, and will give the last Board Meeting minutes to the Scoop.
Corresponding Secretary Sam Condo gave an update on the Community Relations Committee. Sam will fill in for Art Caputo while he is away as Picnic Chairman as needed.
Treasurer Eileen Ramsdell will get new bank forms and signature cards made out.
Building Use Coordinator Marsha Sutton has already met with Bill Schukraft and others who use the building to ensure a smooth transition.
Facilities Manager Linda Bartolone is receiving a status from Art Caputo, and is in the process of taking inventory of items in the building.
Director Howard Strassner commented on the picnic and pool; more volunteers are needed as pool supervisor.
Director Gary Bach was not present as he is in Germany.
President Jim urged all to take a careful look at the finances in order to come up with a budget. Discussion on compensation, if any, for volunteers who put on major events, so that volunteers are treated uniformly.
Bulletin Board needs information for the Yard Sale, changed to August 7, the First Saturday. A notice needs to be put in the Scoop also. There will be a $ 2 charge to cover the cost of advertising.
It was agreed to have a "Board Sponsored Bake Sale with Food" for the Yard Sale. Linda Bartolone and Joyce Southerton will call residents to contribute to the Bake Sale as a fundraiser. Sam, Howard and Gary will coordinate the food for this event. Joyce mentioned that we have almost 400 homes in this community now.
Joyce will contact Mr. Morgan and Larry Hill to see if they can attend the next Quarterly Resident's Meeting on the 1st Thursday, Sept. 2.
Joyce will also try to arrange an after-hours meeting for the Board to meet with some of the Morgan Management office staff, such as Larry Hill, Steve Saboca and Kevin Morgan. Steve is the manager of the 57 parks, and Kevin is in charge of sales for most of the parks.
