The Resident's Meeting was called to order at 7 P.M. by President Jim Anthony. Brian Peet led the residents in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
The new Board members were introduced to the residents.
Joyce Southerton introduced our guests, Owners Bob and Robyn Morgan, Comptroller Larry Hill, and District Sales Manager, Kevin Morgan. Bob Morgan said the completion of construction for the final 28 lots should be done over the winter, bringing the total number of lots here to 553. It is his intention to make this park be one of the premier manufactured home parks in the Northeast. He and Larry Hill explained that they are expanding the maintenance crew for next year, and they want to have more flowers along the entrance, new front signs and more landscaping. They also want to expand the size of the community center complex, and are thinking about open shelters near the ponds. They want to put in an 8-foot wooden fence to separate Gypsum Mills from Hunts Park, as well as a berm with evergreen trees on it running along the Thruway. For the winter, they are considering offering a contract snowplowing service in the community. The missing street signs and stop signs are now on order, and should be in place within the month. According to Larry, there is a weekly Wednesday morning meeting with department heads to go over outstanding issues, and he said anyone can sit in provided they let him know first. The Board thanked the Owners and staff for taking their time to meet the residents again this year, and thanked them for their support of the community in many ways throughout the year.
Joyce Southerton gave the Management Report:
The Victor Fire Department wants to put on a Fire Prevention Drill, set tentatively for Sept. 20.
They need 15 people to sign up to have Weight Watchers. Contact Joyce if you are interested.
We now have Door-to-Door bus service to Eastview and Wades, etc. See Joyce for schedules. Only 50 cents to Eastview for seniors.
Some residents have still not signed up at the Assessor's Office for the STAR program, for which all residents are eligible. This will reduce your monthly rent. Also, veterans may sign up for the Veterans Benefit, which pays you a lump sum from the park. The state Assembly is considering changing this law. Call them now if you want it kept the same or changed.
The RV Corral is full and an additional corral near the Thruway will be made next spring. Meanwhile they will park the extra RV's near the present corral.
Other issues include speeding in the park, cars parked on the road, and excessive noise. Most residents are doing a fantastic job making their lots beautiful, with only four messy lots this year.
Jim Anthony said the new suggestion box should be up in the Community Center by Sept. 15. They are also considering a free-standing bulletin board near the mail building. There will be a Resident of the Year Award (male and female) to be nominated by the residents. There will be a Volunteer Recognition function in May, 2005.
