GYPSUM MILLS COOPERATIVE BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING OCT. 14, 2004

  1. Jim Anthony called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. All members present except Gary Bach and Brian Peet. Marsha Sutton lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
  2. Announcements/Recognitions:
    1. The Suggestion Box has been up in the Complex for 5 weeks. No suggestions so far have been received.
    2. Jim expressed special THANKS to all Board Members and Volunteers who worked on the Open House, especially Marsha Sutton and Howard Strassner for scheduling the cooks and kitchen crews. The Co-op received a check for $300 for cooking and handling things in the Complex during that time from Morgan Management.
  1. Minutes from the last Board Meeting 8/19 were accepted as posted in the Complex.
  2. Eileen Ramsdell gave the Treasurers Report. Balance on 9/2/04 was $1725.72, balance on 10/14/04 is $1704.76. Discussion on cleaning the Complex: Morgan Management had agreed to pay $30 per week for cleaning, billable monthly. Any cleaning costs above that are payable by the Co-op. The financial audit will possibly be finished next week.
  3. Linda Bartolone reported the House fund balance of $75.69 in the pop kitty. She had just ordered $288 worth of kitchen and Complex supplies for upcoming events. Sam Condo will follow up with Linda on woodwork required for one of the bocci courts. Gary Bach had installed the cigarette butt container in front of the Complex.
  4. Marsha Sutton reported Complex donations of $ 50.00, plus Ellie Reed donated a new coffee pot to the Complex. December is fully booked.
  5. Committee Reports:
    1. Open House- Marsha Sutton. No complaints were received, everything was excellent including Linda Bartolone's famous hot sauce and sauerkraut.
    2. Community Relations- Sam Condo said there are 2 new issues, but several others have been resolved. Joyce is also helping to get the blacktop driveways finished.
    3. Legislative Affairs- Brian Peet is sick, no information to report.
  1. Joyce Southerton gave the Management Report.
    1. She was happy to report that the missing street and stop signs were installed last Wednesday. She is following up on 2 more signs that are needed.
    2. It was reported that sales during the Open House were very successful. Thanks to all the residents that helped make it a success.
  1. Unfinished Business:
    1. Volunteer Recognition- Marsha Sutton will be the chairperson for this, to be held May 22, 2-4 PM, for all Gypsum Mills volunteers. You will be contacted.
    2. Sam Condo said the Halloween Party on Oct. 31 is progressing well, 12-3 PM.
    3. Linda Bartolone said the Christmas Party is set for Dec. 11 in two sessions, 1-4 PM with the Sweet Adelines, and 5-9 PM with The Generation Gap band, thanks Sam.
    4. Agreed to hold the Free-Standing Bulletin Board discussion until Spring.
  1. New Business:
    1. Sam Condo will chair the New Year's Eve party. There will be an entertainment band and DJ-Sam.
    2. Marsha is making a list of all residents who want to volunteer, give her a call: 924-0781.
    3. Marsha moved to let the Bridge Club use the Complex on Mondays 7-10:30 PM if not occupied by other events, seconded by Howard. Approved.
    4. 2005 Social events planned: Jan. 15, DJ Sam; Feb. 12, Sweetheart Dinner; Mar. 19, St. Patricks Dinner; Apr. 17, Welcome New Residents; May 22, Volunteer Recognition; Jun. 18, Event; Jul. 16, Picnic; Aug. 6, Yard Sale; Aug. 19, Street Dance; Sep. 17, Event; Oct. 15, Event; Dec. 10, Holiday Party. All dates will be on our website: www.gypsumcoop.org .
    5. Next Board Meeting 11/10 7 PM. Next Residents Meeting 12/1.
    6. Resident of the Year Award- it was agreed that this required further thought.
