The meeting was called to order by Jim Anthony at 6:34 PM. All members except Leroy Lashua were present. Nancy Alcorn lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
Announcements/Recognitions: Jim thanked all for their help on the Retirement Party, and the Guyette's and all who helped on the Oktoberfest. The Board received a very nice thank you card from Southerton's. We welcomed Nancy Alcorn, our new Park Manager.
Ron Platten read the minutes from the last Board Meeting, Jim Anthony moved to accept as read.
Eileen Ramsdell gave the Treasurer Report: Balance as of 10/1 was $4,836.63. Jim Anthony moved to accept the report for audit. Accepted.
Facilities Report - Bill Hoffman said the House fund current balance is $152.32. Lou moved to accept.
Complex Use Report - Jim gave the report for Leroy Lashua. Leroy spent an hour cleaning the microwave, and he cleaned the grill as well. He received donations of $250 for Complex use.
Community Relations - Sam Condo reported that 20 residents had issues resolved working with Mike Alcorn. No new issues to report at this time.
Legislative Affairs - Gaynor Seeber reported no activity at this time. Eileen moved to accept.
Helping Hands - Lou Guyette reported that his committee is disbanding as several members are more involved in their churches now, and they are no longer needed as neighbors are helping neighbors. The board expressed appreciation for all the work they had done for the residents.
Oktoberfest - Lou Guyette reported that there was a $116.84 profit and everyone enjoyed the food and the party. Lou recommended that next time they cook less food, as everyone had leftovers to take home. Ron moved to accept the report.
Management Report - Nancy Alcorn said they are looking into the policy for trampolines. She said that installing sidewalks beside the roads is not feasible due to town setbacks, but they are planning to extend the sidewalk past Maintenance around past the Thruway, and possibly ending near the east fence. The pet registration issue will be a one-time event, and is necessary only for new residents in the future. The bike rack concrete is in place beside the pool, and the rack should be here in 6 weeks. Jim Haskins and Mike Alcorn are working to have the electric repaired to the island for Christmas decorations by mid-November. There will be no additional street lights added at the entrance as they would be annoying for the front residents. Nancy offered to get some games from her daughter who works at Hasbro for the Complex. Apartment residents are not to walk their dogs in our area without picking up after them.
Unfinished Business - Ron Platten will put up revised Board member pictures
in the Complex and on the website. Gaynor Seeber will move the Christmas items
out of storage, and Jim Anthony will look for space to repair them.
New Business - We will continue polling board members via email for minor
issues between board meetings, but any significant issues will require an
extra board meeting in person. The Ontario County Office of the Aging will
hold an Informational meeting Nov. 3 from 6 - 7 PM in the Complex.
The AM Exercisers will be meeting for chair exercises in the Complex.
Nancy will see if we can get a shed placed behind the Complex to be used for
chair storage while we wait for the Complex to be expanded. The website
www.gypsumcoop.org
will have 2 Scoop Calendars displayed there,
as well as a hit counter added. It was agreed to skip the Halloween party
this year due to the full schedule. A Craft Sale was discussed for next year;
Lou will have a meeting in Feb/March to see if there is interest.
The Crafts could be combined with the Yard Sale. The November activity
has been skipped as the schedule is too busy. The New Year's Eve Party will
be chaired by Sam Condo, with snacks at 7:30 and the George Hogan Band from
8:30 - 12:30. Jim Anthony will chair the Dec. 10 Caroling Hayride, assisted
by Sam, Linda, Lou, Gaynor and Bill Hoffman, with cider and cookies to follow.
All New Business decisions were unanimously approved.
Meeting was moved to adjourn by Linda Bartolone at 9:18 PM, seconded by Lou Guyette.
Respectfully submitted, Ron Platten, Secretary
