Board Meeting Minutes

March 8, 2007

  1. President Sam Condo called meeting to Order at 7:30pm. Members not in attendance; Ron Platten and Lou Guyette. Jim Anthony was asked to take the meeting minutes.
  2. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was lead by Eileen Ramsdell
  3. Announcements and Recognitions - Sam, nothing at this time.
  4. Read minutes of last meeting. Approved as written.
  5. Treasurers Report- Eileen reported March 2nd balance was $2,051.01 - Current balance not available at time of this meeting.
  6. House Funds- Terry Duffy reports a current balance of $ 78.60.
  7. Cooperative Center Report- Bill Hoffman reports that Nancy Alcorn opens the Community Complex in the morning which he greatly appreciates. Posters on the Bulletin Board have been found that do not pertain to the Community. These types of advertisements must be approved by the Board. Please call Bill.
  8. Legislative Affairs & Resident information- Don Kennedy. Nothing at this time to report on legislative actions. Working with FF Thompson Hospital to set Dates for presenting programs at our Complex regarding information and assistance programs for seniors. This is provided through a $150,000.00 grant awarded to the hospital.
  9. Community Relations- Linda Bartolone. Nothing to report at this time.
  10. Management report- Nancy Alcorn
    1. Contacting Dotty and the Red Cross to schedule a Blood Drive here sometime in June.
    2. Some Volunteer Sheets have been received, please keep them coming in.
    3. Bill mentioned that we are in need of people for CPR. Sam suggested a note be placed on the Bulletin Board.
    4. No recent information regarding the arrival of the defibrillator. Don volunteered to follow-up on it if Nancy doesn't hear anything soon.
    5. "Activities Registration Day for all Residents" Saturday, April 7, 2007 from 1pm to 4pm at the Complex. Enjoy refreshments while you sign up for Pool Passes, Bocce, Shuffleboard, Golf, etc. Board members will be present to answer any of your questions.
    6. Lots of projects just waiting for Winter to get over.
    7. Wind blocks still being investigated for the Mail Boxes.
  1. Unfinished Business- Revised form for complex use. Nancy presented her review of the proposed changes. Bill Hoffman and Lou Guyette will update the document with everyone's suggestions. Don suggested that the defibrillrator is not to be played with since it is very expensive.
  2. New Business
    1. Election Committee: Sam requested a chairperson to head the committee to obtain nominations for the 4 board positions that will need to be filled at the June election. Please call Sam if you are interested to chair the committee or if you are interested in being a candidate.

    2. Balance of year party schedule:
    3. The 3rd Saturday of each Month is scheduled for Community events.

      Breakfast starts this Sunday, March 11th.

      Hoe Down possibility for August.

      Per Bill, Lou would like to ascertain a Cart Show. Spruced up Golf Carts.

      Resident's picnic date yet to be determined.

      Yard Sale set for Saturday, August 11, 2007. More info to follow.

    4. Volunteer help meeting sometime after the Snowbirds return. Open to all Residents, plus our Committee Chairpersons will be asked to bring a community friend or neighbor to the meeting.

    5. Bill and Don talked about contacting AARP to hold a "55 Alive, Safe Driving Course" here for any resident interested in reducing their car insurance costs or reducing any points they may have obtained.

    6. By-Law changes reviewed by Don Kennedy. Copies will be given to members for their review. Once all are received, a schedule will be implemented to present them to the Community and a voting day.
