BOARD MEETING MINUTES
JULY 10, 2007
Don Kennedy called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Member not in attendance: Terry Duffy.
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was led by Don. He announced the next Board Meeting will be on Wednesday, August 1, at 6:30 PM. Next Residents Meeting will be Thursday, Sept. 6, at 7:30 PM.
Last meeting minutes- Ron Platten read the minutes, Don moved to accept the minutes as corrected.
Treasurer's report- Eileen Ramsdell reported a balance of $2,842.79 as of 7/10/07.
House Funds- Terry Duffy sent his report. The ending balance for June 30 was $131.13.Cooperative Center Report- Bill Hoffman said there were four private parties in June, the AARP Driving Course, a blood drive that yielded 30 pints, an Open House for Gypsum Mills, and a Compassionate Care Meeting. Future AARP Driving Courses will be Aug. 13-14 and Sept. 18-25.
Legislative Affairs- Nothing at this time. RoseMarie Varner will be the liaison with the NY Park Resident/Homeowners Association.
Breakfast Report- Given by Lou Guyette. May had a loss of $ 48.47 due to free meals for mothers. June had income of $ 84.82, a loss of $ 36.35, and a new toaster for $ 53.87. Total loss and expenses were $ 138.69, covered by the treasury. July had 90 people at the breakfast, and the finances are not yet tabulated.
Community Relations- Nothing to report this month. Don will keep this task.
Management Report- Debra DeMars said she has been picking up the loose papers at the post office building. She obtained checks of $ 300 for the Volunteer Luncheon, and $ 800 for the Picnic from Morgan Management. The Special Olympics will be chaired by Dottie Domalski on August 20. Don Kennedy will be organizing our golfers for the event. Morgan Management will plant a Remembrance Tree in front of the Victor Villas in honor of Lisa Lindsay, daughter of Steve and Sandy Panagiotatos, who was killed there. Lisa left an 18-year old daughter without anything, and there will be a collection taken up for some of her college expenses. The proceeds of the 50/50 at the Picnic will be for Lisa's daughter. Debra said Morgan Management will pay for the Yard Sale advertising, so residents will not have to pay this year. Thompson Health will have an Open House on Sept. 28 from Noon to 6 PM.
Unfinished Business:
A. The first Picnic meeting for volunteers will be on July 16. Tickets have been printed and are on sale in the office. Arrangements are underway.
B. Ron was asked to update the pictures of the board members for the Center and on the web.
C. Don has contacted Supervisor Leslie Bamann concerning the cleanup of the property at the corner of Plastermill and Brownsville Roads.
New Business- None.
