RESIDENTS MEETING MINUTES

December 6, 2007

  1. Don Kennedy called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Not in attendance: Debra DeMars, Bill Hoffman, Terry Duffy, Jerry Vaughn.
  2. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was led by Don Kennedy.
  3. President's Announcements:
    1. Don thanked Bill Hoffman for his dedication in managing the Center, scheduling parties and locking and unlocking the doors.
    2. Don asked the town for a plan to manage the increased traffic on Plastermill due to the new apartments and the Route 96 bridge closure.
    3. A pothole in the road was filled with gravel, and gravel was filled in the spot where the Frontier truck is parked.
    4. Management was asked to consider getting a generator for the Center in case of emergencies.
    5. The light at the rear of the Center no longer works.
  4. Last meeting minutes- Marv Gelb moved to accept the minutes as posted on the website, Don Semifero seconded.
  5. Treasurer's report- Eileen Ramsdell reported a balance of $ 1,688.29 as of 12/6/07.
  6. Cooperative Center Report- Bill Hoffman reported that in November there were 5 private parties, 1 bereavement luncheon, 1 Thompson Health presentation, the election day polling, and 1 AARP driving course. The Center carpet and kitchen vents were cleaned as well. The Board had voted to lock the library if children are present at private parties.
  7. House Funds- Terry Duffy reported November income from the pop machine of $ 29.00 and $ 50.11 expenses, with a balance Dec. 1 of $147.89.
  8. Breakfast Report- Lou Guyette reported the November attendance was 63, with net income of $ 30.84. Lou said the kitchen and cupboards need to be cleaned during January.
  9. Management Report- Nothing this month as Debra DeMars was absent.
  10. Unfinished Business:
    1. Italian Night- Don said the dinner will be January 26 at 6 pm, with a ticket price of $ 7.00.
    2. Christmas Decorations- Carm Bartolone, Frank Newman and others went to Prestige and brought the decorations back. Debra DeMars said the maintenance department will set them up. RoseMarie Varner will get the Christmas trees set up in the Center on Saturday morning.
    3. Liz Heath donated 8 computers to the Coop, and we will keep 2 for computer training. If anyone needs a computer, please call Ron at 924-1658.
    4. We still need people to send us their email addresses. Please go to www.gypsumcoop.org and click on "Contact the Board" to do that. The Services Directory is now on the website as well.
  11. Residents Comments:
    1. Leo Williams asked how Coop gets revenue. Answer: Room rentals, breakfasts, pop machine, preparing food for open houses and garage sales, and bingo.
    2. Linda Bartolone said the unlicensed truck parked near their house (discussed at the Sept. meeting) is still there and should be towed.
    3. Marv Gelb said the Post Office delivery is running later than ever, and we never know for sure when the mail will be there.
    4. Paul Buholtz said his water pressure is 110 psi, and Ritz Craft says the maximum limit is 80 psi. He wondered what damage could be caused by not having a pressure regulator.
    5. Comment that we need a stop sign at the end of the mail room road, and larger One Way signs there as well.
  12. Linda Bartolone moved to adjourn at 8:10 pm, George Townsend seconded.
